FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our Priorities:
- A genetically clean true English Labrador: Above all other qualities’ genetics are at the top of our list. All our dogs must be genetically sound. We have OFA Hip and Elbows certifications, eyes certifications and full genetic panels including the following diseases: CNM, CY, DM, EIC, HNPK, HUU, PKD, PRA-prcd, and SD2. For more information on these panels please see https://www.animalgenetics.us/Canine/Genetic_Disease/Disease_Index.asp. In addition to clean genetics we want a true English Lab body style. This includes the renowned block head, broad shoulders, and shorter stockier builds. While some of dams haver soft features, we strive towards this traditional build.
- A calm temperament: True English labs are much calmer than their American counterparts. While American labs make super-fast excellent bird dogs that also comes with an excessive amount of energy. We want just the opposite in our white labs. We are looking for a calm very laid-back Labrador that has energy to play and be active but also is content just lying at the feet of its owners and enjoying the easy life.
- White in color: As our name implies, we raise white English Labs!!! While this is important, we have some bloodlines that have cream shading to the ears or tips of the tails, and we are perfectly ok with this!! We will never sacrifice color for pour genetics or temperament. Yes, most of our dogs are white in color but you will also see litters that we point out cream shading to. Some of our families prefer this shading but just ask us and we will make sure you get the color you are looking for!!

What kind of food do you feed?
We feed Inukshuk Professional. It is a great food preferred by high quality breeders. There are several good foods out there just make sure it has a balanced nutrition. Also be aware of some of the health issues starting to be linked to grain free diets in larger breed dogs. A simple google search will provide you with multiple resources. We support a balanced diet of protein, vitamins, and carbs (often found in grains).

How do I choose my puppy?
We know choosing the right puppy is important!! While physical appearance is part of the decision we are choosing personality as much as anything. That is why we use pictures, our Perfect Puppy Match Program, hours of livestream video, and detailed personality descriptions to compliment the process. We have spent years developing the Perfect Match puppy program. With our new Perfect Puppy questionnaire we will dig into exactly what you are looking for in a puppy. We will send you this quiz at around 5 to 6 weeks old. From your Perfect Puppy score we will then place you with the perfect puppy from your litter. Trust us on this process. We have spent the last decade watching families and puppies. We know that matching you to the perfect personality is foundational in the new addition to your family. Our goal is to make the next 13 to 15 years of your life the best so far!!
Can I visit Companion Assistance Dogs in person?
Absolutely you can visit!!! But we require a deposit fee to ensure that just few persons come in at a time to avoid infections. We have excellent biosecurity standards so we welcome visitors who have deposited for a pup anytime!! Just give us a call to set up an appointment. Beware of breeders that won’t allow you to visit until time to pick up.Â
Tell me about flying my puppy or picking up in person
We get this question a lot and that’s ok!! We have been flying puppies home for over a decade and most of our puppies do fly to their new home. There are a few great and safe options that you should consider:
- Flying your puppy to any US National Airport: We use Delta and American Airlines for flying our puppies. They have really great pet services. We fly our puppies home in the same crate that we crate train them in. This crate is much larger than required by the airlines and since puppies are accustomed to sleeping in them during the crate training period it is a non-stressful experience. We also fly them home with a frozen tray of water so as it melts, they have fresh water during the trip home. We handle all the arrangements and you pick up at the destination airport. We have never had an issue flying puppies this way. The flight cost is $500 regardless of US destination.
- In Person Pick Up: We also welcome you to pick up in person!! You are welcome to drive in and take your pup back with you or many families fly into Little Rock or Memphis and take their pup back in cabin with them. Often you can find very reasonable flight into Little Rock or Memphis. We always love this option just because we get to meet you and show off our home!
- Puppy Nanny Service: We can also fly your puppy home in cabin with one of our representatives. This service is great if time just doesn’t allow you to make it to Little Rock and you prefer someone to fly with your pup. We take your puppy in cabin with us and you just meet us at the airport. This service is the most expensive and of course varies by destination airport. Costs often range from $600 to $800.
How do I pay for my puppy
We have several options for payment. When you decide you want to move forward with reserving a puppy, we will take all your information (full name, mailing address, phone, and email) and send you over an invoice for your review. Please do not send us a deposit unless you have received this email. The invoice will contain your puppy or litter choice and expected go home date. If all looks good on the invoice you can make the deposit payment directly through the email. All major credit cards, PayPal, and Venmo are accepted. We do not take final payment until you either pick up in person or flights have been confirmed.
What immunizations do you give?
We give two rounds of immunizations to our puppies. Puppy health and safety is are #1 concern. We have worked with the developer of NeoTech Vaccines to develop the most ideal vaccination schedule. Our puppies are wormed at 2,3,4, and 6 weeks old with Pyrantel. We give NeoPar (Parvo Vaccine) at 5 & 7 weeks old. We give NeoVac DA2 (Canine Distemper Adenovirus Type 2 Vaccine) at 6 and 8 weeks old. NeoTech Vaccines have been proven to work through maternal antibodies at a younger age and have a longer lasting immunity. Your vet will more than likely pick up with a 5in1 vaccine at the next scheduled immunization.
